Courtney Gains Actor/Producer
A Professional actor for over 15 years, Courtney landed his first feature film, Children of the Corn, in 1983, as the unforgettable "Malachi." From that point on Courtney has worked non-stop in over a dozen feature films including Can't Buy Me Love, Colors, The burbs, Memphis Belle, and most recently in Second Shot for Motion Picture Film Company of America. Television credits include guest starringE.R., In the Heat of the Night, Tales From the Crypt, Alias, and Seinfeld. Teaching in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland over the last 10 years, his students have included Alicia Silverstone (Clueless, The Crush,) Brigid Walsh (Kindred: The Embraced, Brooklyn South, Touched by an Angel,) Jonah Blechman (This Boy's Life, Falltime,) and Ryan Johnson (Demolition Day, Boston Common.) Courtney started directing actors as an acting coach. In that time, he directed various showcases and scene study classes. His directorial debut, a one man show entitled Blood Stained Rain ran the Gardner Stage in 1997. Followed by Danny and the Deep Blue Sea at the Creative Center in 1998 and Sorry in 2000. He is currently producing a one woman show, Margarita on the Rocks, at the Center, which has garnered great reviews and sold out houses since it's opening. Besides being an accomplished actor, Courtney is also a musician. You can catch this singer-songwriter playing his guitar at many local clubs. His first CD "Gains" was released in August of 2000 and showcases a singer/songwriter with depth and creativity, and a lot more to say. |
